Founding Director:
Ming-Li “Minx” Turhan
At the heart of Minx's brand is a passion and respect for the history and culture of street dances. As a creative and storyteller, she encourages her students to be strong advocates for dance culture and effortlessly creates an environment for everyone to express their own individuality and style.
With over 15 years teaching, choreography and judging experience, Minx is a versatile dancer who specialises in all styles of street dance from Hip Hop to Dancehall to Salsa, but is especially known for her prowess in Reggaeton and Latin Fusion. She has had the privilege of performing and teaching in Europe, North America, Asia and all over Australia.
Her proudest dance achievements include five Australian professional solo Reggaeton titles and featuring in So You Think You Can Dance Australia’s top 100 dancers. Her competition troupe, MFassis Crew, has won 15 National titles to date and continues to entertain crowds worldwide. She was also the youngest recipient of the “Award of Excellence for her commitment to the Australian Latin dance scene” in 2019.
As the founding director of The MBassy Dance Studio and with over a decade of experience in national event management amongst various street dance communities, Minx has the vision to strengthen the Melbourne street Latin scene through community-driven and collaborative projects.

Co-Director:
Gökay “Kai” Turhan
Melbourne and Australia is lucky to have an international talent like Kai with his unique and gentlemanly style of Salsa On2!
With over 10 years’ experience in dance, Kai has a versatile background in ballet, modern, funk, and street jazz, however, he found his true calling and fell in love with dancing salsa On2. An eight time National champion in Turkey, Kai has also taught at and directed international dance festivals.
Kai’s teaching repertoire includes salsa, bachata, chachacha, kizomba, and men’s styling, and his prowess as a dance instructor and coach is attested by the scores of national champions nurtured under his guidance.
Kai is passionate about sharing his views on musicality and fusion of dance through Mambo Moderna with the Australian dance community.
Ballet & Jazz:
Kate-Elissah Tallamy
With over 35 years immersed in dance, theatre, and the performing arts, Kate-Elissah Tallamy brings a wealth of experience and passion to both the stage and the studio. Holding a Diploma of Performing Arts (Classical Ballet) and a BA in Dance, she has performed professionally in theatre and cabaret, taught at some of Melbourne’s leading ballet and performing arts schools, and even owned her own dance studio in Tasmania. Her expertise extends beyond performance, having also worked with the renowned Australian dancewear brand, Bloch. In 2023, Kate was invited as a guest speaker at an international symposium at the University of Auckland, and in 2024, her work was published in a Washington-based academic journal.
Kate’s dance training spans nearly every genre, from ballet, jazz, and tap to Latin and Ballroom. She has taught students of all ages, from children to adults, and is a certified tutor and mentor for the R.A.D. Faculty of Education. During the COVID-19 lockdowns, she further expanded her qualifications, earning a Certificate IV and Diploma in Dance Teaching and Studio Management. Having personally navigated serious dance injuries and extensive rehabilitation, Kate is deeply committed to dance safety and injury prevention, ensuring all her students train with longevity and well-being in mind.
Hip Hop, KPop & Waacking:
Kaelynn Yoonsung Kim
Kaelynn’s journey in dance is one of evolution and cultural fusion. Growing up immersed in the artistry of ballet and the vibrancy of K-pop, Kaelynn discovered her love for movement early on. In her 20s, she joined a university dance club in South Korea, where she performed over 60 times across diverse street dance styles, including K-pop, waacking, hip hop, and house.
As the founder of Rika Crew, Kaelynn choreographed and directed performances that celebrated street jazz and Afro influences, showcasing her versatility and creative flair. Since moving to New Zealand in 2016, her dance style has continued to evolve, incorporating reggaeton, afrobeats, and deep house into her repertoire.
Now based in Australia, Kaelynn is a welcome addition to The MBassy Dance Team! Kaelynn’s passion for dance culture and her roots in K-culture drive her mission to share her unique style and knowledge with the Australian dance community.
Brazillian Samba No Pé:
Adriana Neculai
Adriana’s passion for Samba is deeply rooted in her love for joy, strength, and community. With over seven years of experience, Adriana has dedicated herself to mastering this dynamic art form, training with some of the best Samba instructors in both Australia and Brazil. Her journey has taken her to the world stage, including the vibrant streets of Rio de Janeiro, where she paraded with an International Passista Ala during Carnival.
Adriana’s accomplishments include competing with teams in numerous dance competitions, earning accolades and placements that highlight her skill and dedication. Beyond performance, she is passionate about creating choreography and regularly hones her craft in freestyle and musicality.
For Adriana, Samba is more than a dance—it’s a celebration of culture and evolution. From Afro-Samba to Malandro and even hip-hop fusion, she embraces the versatility and ever-changing nature of this captivating art form, sharing its beauty with audiences and students alike.
Ballet & Jazz:
Zoe Germon
With over 17 years of experience, Zoe is a passionate and accomplished dancer whose love for movement, storytelling, and connection shines through in every performance. Trained across multiple styles - including jazz, ballet, tap, acrobatics, hip-hop, and contemporary - she has graced the stage in productions such as Grease with Harvest Rain, High School Musical Jr., and Broadway and Beyond with Kelly Aykers. Her time with SCIMM Dance Company, participating in programs like Ascension, Nexus, and The Experience, has further refined her artistry and technical expertise. In 2025, Zoe is thrilled to continue her journey by joining SCIMM’s full-time dance program.
Beyond performing, Zoe is a dedicated educator who finds immense joy in inspiring the next generation of dancers. She began assisting in 2017 and transitioned to teaching in 2021, later running her own classes in a small rural town where she became known for her energetic and engaging approach. Her choreography for high school productions has allowed her to foster confidence and creativity in young performers. With a passion for creating a supportive and uplifting learning environment, Zoe is committed to helping dancers of all levels grow, thrive, and fall in love with the art of dance.
